內(nèi)容介紹：Mathematical modelling is the process of representing real-world situations using mathematical concepts and tools. We will explore its fundamental principles in this seminar. To demonstrate these concepts, we will examine three engaging examples relevant to secondary school students. First, we will analyse how to split birthday dinner expenses among friends, teaching budgeting and division. Next, we will model taxi fares to understand the relationship between pricing and distance. Lastly, we will delve into a classic problem of measuring the Earth’s circumference, showcasing the power of mathematical thinking.
